Liverpool, UK – August 2025 – Liverpool Distillery Ltd has proudly announced the acquisition of Turncoat Distillery, one of Liverpool's most celebrated and rebellious craft spirit brands. The move secures the future of Turncoat's distinctive gin and vodka portfolio, ensuring its continued production and growth under new ownership.

Founded in 2016, Turncoat quickly became known for its bold flavours, innovative recipes, and uncompromising quality. From its original London Dry Gin to adventurous creations like Cascade Gin, Blackberry & Cherry and Sicilian Lemon Gin, the brand earned a loyal following across the UK.

Majid Lavji, Director of Liverpool Distillery Ltd, said:

"Turncoat has always stood out for its fearless creativity and strong Liverpool identity. As the new custodians, our mission is to preserve that rebellious spirit while expanding the brand's reach nationally and internationally. This acquisition is about more than just recipes – it's about protecting a piece of Liverpool's craft distilling heritage and taking it to the next chapter."

Edward Ridding, the outgoing custodian of Turncoat, commented:

"I'm proud of what we've achieved with Turncoat and the reputation it has built. Passing the baton to Liverpool Distillery was the right choice – they have the passion, resources, and vision to keep Turncoat thriving. I'm excited to see where they take the brand next."

Liverpool Distillery plans to maintain Turncoat's current bestsellers while introducing new seasonal and experimental releases. Production will continue in Liverpool, with a renewed focus on quality, innovation, and customer experience.

Turncoat now joins a portfolio of other premium spirit brands owned and operated by Liverpool Distillery Ltd, further strengthening its position in the UK craft spirits market.
